Vernon Ong

Vernon Ongcomes from a family where old fashioned romance is the norm. He grew up watching his parents walking around the neighborhood with their dog together after dinner everyday and it is still normal for his dad to treat his mum like a little princess even though they are in their late fifties.

Vernon married the most wonderful and beautiful girl he ever met but still manages to make her angry on a daily basis. They both realize that in a marriage, it’s not about being 100% sure whether He/She is the One, but instead, to look towards a lifetime commitment together as a couple – For better or worse, till death do us part. Just like a 100m dash, it’s not how you start, but how you endure it and how you end the race.

Vernon knows that there is no such thing as a perfect love, because it only exists in love movies. However, He feels that such love movies are the bridge between guys and gals because Men are indeed from Mars and Women are from Venus. Hence, it is very vital that communication between couples must be made the top priority.

Men and Women were created differently by God. Men have “Empty Boxes” in their minds whilst Women’s brains are interconnected. Men can come home with problems and not grunt a sound and flip the TV remote control aimlessly. They try to escape reality by hiding in their “Empty Boxes”, which means every trouble in this world is kept there for the time being, without having to resolve it.

Women cannot go to sleep until the problem in their mind is resolved. The worst part is that in a women’s mind, one problem is connected to another, and to another, and to another. Now guys, you know why women nag a lot. Women, now you know why guys never do the things you have told them ten thousand times before, cos the naggings are all kept in the “Empty Boxes”.

Vernon has a positive outlook in life. He believes that God has a plan for everyone and the boy-girl relationship problems in this world are man-made. Marriage is sometimes a leap in faith, faith that your partner will be there for you till the end of time. Without faith, there is no hope. Without hope, there is no dreams. Without dreams, there is no reailty.

Vernon is not the complete husband yet, but he is still trying his best to be the complete husband. Just as his wife is also trying to be the perfect wife for him.
